The principal products and services of the Machinery Group (MAC) are ships, transportation systems, automobiles, plant and machinery for power generation, oil and gas, petrochemicals and other industrial machinery.
MAC’s Power Systems Department has recently successfully completed the construction of two 40MW geothermal turbine generator units with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd at Hellisheidi Power Plant in Iceland and also secured a contract for two additional turbine generator units for the expansion of this power plant. The Power Systems Department also provided support for its Tokyo head office to enter into contracts related to one year maintenance service agreements of five gas turbine units in the UK, the underground electric cables in Qatar and a large IWPP project in Saudi Arabia.
MCUK has also successfully managed to secure a number of ship sales and time-charter arrangements, including for bulk carriers, tankers and container ships.
In the oil and gas industry, MAC continue to collaborate with Energy Business Group to create additional value to the clients, in terms of financing, project development and contracting. Especially for European
engineering companies, plant equipment business has been increasing due to a worldwide construction rush of new petrochemical, oil and gas plants.
Operations in the UK in the field of automobiles, manufactured by Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, are managed through our affiliate company, the Colt Car Company. The company has recently introduced two new models, the new Shogun (known as the “Pajero” or “Montero” in other countries), not a fashion accessory, but an authentic 4 x 4 and the new Outlander, the greenest 7-seater 4x4 with VED Rating E. It is anticipated that in July the multi-prize-winning and environmentally friendly “i” mini-car will be launched in the UK, the first European country to take delivery of this exciting model. |
